
James has over 40 years of experience in the career development field. His expertise includes job search strategies, resume development and interview preparation. He has worked with thousands of students and alumni in assisting them in developing strategies to move to the next phase of their careers. This phase often results in changing jobs but can also mean exploring one’s skills, values, and experiences to create greater balance in their lives.
In addition to working with individuals, James has served as Director of Career Development at four Universities. He worked closely with Corporate Human Services professionals to assist them in acquiring needed talent for their organizations. He has worked with business, engineering, scientific, education, and liberal arts majors; managed on-campus recruiting programs that brought over 100 companies on campus in job fairs and on-campus recruiting. He has also been active with the Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers and served as program and entertainment co-chair for several conferences.
James is qualified to administer and interpret the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and The Strong Interest Indicator For the past 15 years he has taught a graduate course on Applying Career Theory to Counseling at National Louis University.
